Happy Shark Week everybody! If you've never heard the Shark Week song by Marian Call and Patrick Race, this is the perfect day to hear it!
Wizard101 and Pirate101 are celebrating too, and are even giving away free shark mount rentals. On either website just use the code 'teeth' and you'll get a swift shark in Wizard101 and a hammerhead shark in Pirate101. Tomorrow's the last day, so if you haven't gotten you're sharks yet, get them now!
If you've been to the Oracle a few times, it may have given you this fortune:
This post is about the story behind that line.
Fans of the band They Might be Giants probably would have gotten this right away, because it's part of a rather memorable series of songs called Fingertips. I made a video where you can listen to the Oracle say the line, then the song plays.
I happen to know that the person who suggested that saying for the Oracle is Arthur Wethersfield, and that Wizard101 isn't the first game that he worked on that he got the line into.
(Sorry about the quality, it's hard to take pictures of Game Boy screens.)
Ultima Runes of Virtue II was released for the Game Boy in 1994. In the game there is a town that has a secret room under a well. Just inside, there is a sign that reads "Welcome to Origin." In it you can talk to people who worked on the game, and each will say a short line. The character Gnu Gnu says this:
Gnu Gnu is Arthur Wethersfield's alter ego I guess. I think it's funny because the game was made for Game Boys that could only display four shades of green.
For a few weeks now I've been going to the Oracle in the Acropolis house almost every day, and have accumulated a relatively long list of sayings:
Even though the Oracle is supposed to be all-knowing in its advice giving, my characters sometimes feel the need to talk back. And below is how that turns out. Click them to see better.
You're probably in comic overload now, so I'll end here. Be prepared for a part two next week!
Remember this post and this post where I exhibited a bunch of Powerpuff Girl style characters? Well, prepare for part three of that:
Halestorm Balestrom
Moolinda Wu
Arthur Wethersfield
Have you seen the new Kingsisle blog? If you haven't, you should. They have two posts already and I really enjoyed reading them, and I bet any Kingsisle fan would too.
Unrelated to Wizard and Pirate, I finished making a music video that features the Powerpuff Girls and a song by The Doubleclicks called 'The Worst Superpower Ever.' If you're interested, here's a link.
In the test realm there are eight musical instruments you can play in your house: a toy piano, a bass guitar, a drum kit, a lead guitar, a trumpet, a piano, a percussive drum kit, and a sound generator. My favorite is the bass guitar because it has a bass fish on it.
I know how to play a few songs on the piano, so I made a little video of me playing Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.
Here are the hotkeys if you're interested in trying it:

On Wizard101 Central, there's a music library that has many more songs by hotkey.
Did you know there are two secret sounds on the sound generator? Press E for El Toro's trumpet (the one that plays whenever someone mentions El Toro in Pirate101) and S for the seraph's casting song.
I haven't messed with most of the new test realm stuff, but I have bought a lot of hair styles. Which inspired me to make an ad, since the wigs fit really well on mannequins.

I might make another to add on to this later, but that'll be all for now.
I got a Death House a while ago, and I decorated it to look like the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland, so here's a little tour of it in video form:
(Would post more but it's getting late :D)
A few days ago I drew another Wizard101-in-Powerpuff Girl-form picture so I could give an idea of how I make them. First, I took a few pictures in game of what I wanted to draw:
And then I started drawing:
(That's super sped up, it really took me about fifteen minutes)
Here's the picture:
A few weeks ago my dad and I created The Wizard101 Directory. It's a website dedicated to listing every active Wizard101 blog, and I'm trying to find all the Pirate101 blogs too. I find it a useful resource if you just want to read the latest blogs, and it has links to other useful things too, like the Wizard facebook and twitter pages. If you know any active blogs that aren't on the list, be sure to email wizard101directory@gmail.com, I'll be checking it every week or so :D.
The NDA for Pirate101 was lifted today, and now I can share a music video I made, which I'm pretty sure is the first Wizard101 and Pirate101 crossover music video. Enjoy!
Yesterday instead of playing Pirate101 all day like I have been, I decided I was going to draw some stuff. Like my character in Powerpuff Girl form. (I've been pretty obsessed with the Powerpuff Girls lately).
That turned out pretty okay, so I tried in a battle pose.
This led to making a signature for central:
Well, I had my character, what about some teachers?
I wold have done the storm and life teachers, but animals look really weird in PPG form. Baldies also look strange, so no Cyrus. Maybe I'll do more characters next week if I need another break from Pirates.
On a very unwizard related note, I also did a bunch of Disney princesses in this style which led me to making the Wizard characters, if you care to see:
