A Sweet Time in Karamelle

I finished Karamelle! After how long I spent in Empyrea, Karamelle felt a lot shorter. I liked it though.

The opening musical number was unexpected! It was a cool way to start the world.

I thought The Quake Charmer was pretty funny. He was my favorite Cabal member.

Malistaire looks a little different from what I remember

I liked that the main quest involved an investigation that used photomancy and playing as your pet, since it was nice to break up the monotony of doing battles once in a while.

My favorite dungeon was the cupcake factory. The conveyor belts putting together the cupcakes looked really cool!

She's got me there- I do play with cards

"as they say" - not sure they do say that, but it is very funny

I love the secret plan scrum board

The Judge Veg fight is pretty memorable since he polymorphs you into a vegetable. I couldn't beat him as evil snow peas or dead beets, but I did manage it on my third try when he turned me into evil carrots.

I like Rosina as a companion a bit more than Greta. It's funny that she's a gobbler who is allergic to everything so she looks and acts like an alphoi but she doesn't even know about them.

Gotta love gobblers

I saw that reference coming a galaxy away

The last boss was a lot more difficult for me than the standard mode of the final fights in Empyrea, but it was pretty interesting since you keep getting cursed cards that you can't discard.

Empyrea was a hard act to follow, but Karamelle was pretty cool overall. I liked the Gumdrop Forest and the Candy Corn Farm areas the best. I thought the story was pretty good.

There was only one Rate My Stitch event since my last post: Dragonspyre themed outfits.

And that's all I have for today. Time to leap into Lemuria!

A Long Trek In Empyrea

I finally finished Empyrea recently. It took a while, but I enjoyed it!

I liked the Star Trek references in this world right away. The opening cutscene is really cool. And once Khan showed up, I watched Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The voice lines trying to imitate stuff from the movie were pretty funny.

There are so many great moments in Zanadu. Here are screenshots of some of my favorites:

Nice Wizard of Oz reference

As an avid Batman fanfiction reader, I got so excited when I realized The Bat was going to be based on Batman. I loved the Nightwyng dungeon with acolytes based on Robin names- J'son for Jason Todd, Steff for Stephanie Brown, Damian for Damian Wayne- though it has Azrael instead of Tim Drake for some reason. Maybe they couldn't think of a way to make his name sound like an acolyte?

In Sepidious, I had a feeling Dynt was going to betray us since I could tell he was based on Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

Also, I liked Quizzler calling us the famous Wizard Wonder, like we're Robin to the Bat.

I was a bit worried about the Medulla fight since I heard it was really hard, but the standard/nerfed version really wasn't that bad. I liked rescuing Pork, Beans, and Spark and having them help me in the battle.

After we saved Mellori, I thought it was interesting that Zander knew that I'm from Earth. I can't remember a time when anyone acknowledged the isekai aspect of this game since the tutorial.

I thought it was kind of funny that Merle Ambrose says that Bartleby has requested me specifically, but Bartleby's dialogue just says "find the Wizard" which doesn't feel very specific. Like, are they sure he's talking about me? Did Ambrose make a lucky guess?

This area is really pretty!

He's not exactly wrong about me not doing any classwork

I really liked fighting "The Headmaster." All the different polymorph stages make it feel like a unique fight. I especially liked the spells you get for the lecture stage.

The Aeroplanes are very pretty

The Whirlyburly minigame is pretty interesting. I only played it a couple of times, but I like that it's there to mix things up a bit- like the Lava Lock and dance minigames earlier in the world.

First a Space Oddity reference and now Rocket Man? It's like they've seen my "Space Songs" playlist

I like that you get polymorphed really big in the final dungeon. The fight was pretty easy, but it feels triumphant.

And that's the end of Empyrea! Overall, I liked this world a lot- better than Polaris and Mirage. The story is a little bit like a Star Trek and Batman crossover fanfiction which I enjoyed. And despite it being in two parts, it didn't feel too long like Krysalis did.

Also, Rate My Stitch continues to be my favorite event. Here are all the latest ones I've done:
